We installed D'Addario Helicore Octave violin strings plus a Prim B-flat string tuned up to C, and lightly modifying the bridge, nut, and pegs to accommodate them. We also upgraded the original friction pegs to geared Wittner FineTune pegs. The result is the same powerful YEV tone but a whole octave lower, allowing you to cover the cello and viola range!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition-wise, this instrument came back to us in excellent if not 'Near Mint' condition. The only real wear are on the strings, which though used still have plenty of life in them.
