Call it a collab, call it a mashup...the Volta Glassertron is the best of two worlds--carbon acoustic violins (Glasser) and built-in violin speaker electronics (Volta). Enjoy incredible tone right under your ear and out through an amplifier, with all the flexibility of a carbon instrument that's not susceptible to changes in temperature or moisture. This is the indoor or outdoor, at-home or on stage violin model for the player in need of the ultimate versatility.

It all starts with Glasser's carbon composite body, which provides wood-like resonance and tonal response that feels familiar in your hands. A paint/dye coating system provides a distinctive, slightly pearlescent finish to the body of the instrument in a wide variety of possible colors. It comes with a carbon composite bridge & soundpost.

Into the Glasser violin body goes Volta's special amplification harness, which includes two active 1.5" speakers, located on the lower bouts of the violin nearest the player. Up top on the bass side of the fingerboard is a resonator that helps open up the sound of the chambered violin body.

Tone from the piezo pickup system is quite nice, and is augmented by the integrated reverb effect. Two knobs control the pickup output and the reverb level independently, so if you want it loud and dry or soft but echoing, you can achieve either, and everything in between.

The included reverb effect works only through the onboard speakers, facilitating a very realistic in-room playing experience, even if playing outdoors. The output that you would send to an amplifier or PA does not retain the reverb effect, however, so you can color your clean sound separately using your favorite pedal board effects.

While the speaker system is battery-powered, the pickup system operates passively, allowing you to perform plugged in without relying on the battery. As a passive violin, Violinatron is compatible with bug-style wireless systems such as Line 6 G10 and BOSS WL-20.

Rounding out the setup are a composite tailpiece with built-in fine tuners, and Knilling Perfection Pegs geared tuners!

Compatible with standard 4/4 violin cases and bows (both sold separately).
