USED Jordan 4-String electric violin (#3) with vintage early ZETA Jazz pickup
Your opportunity to own not one, but two pieces of electric violin history! This striking flamed maple violin is number 3 ever produced by one of the legends of electric violin lutherie, Mr. John Jordan. Additionally, this instrument is equipped with its original ZETA Jazz bridge pickup and circuit board preamp system, including 8-pin DIN MIDI output jack and 1/4" jack for analog output. Based on conversations with John Jordan, we estimate this instrument to have been built circa 1987, using a contemporary ZETA system.
In perfect working condition, this Jordan violin gives you the look of a classic and the original electric violin signature sound. Yet, this is no museum piece. While in overall very good cosmetic condition, there are clear clear markers of lots of usage over the decades. When an instrument is this old and so musically vintage, finish wear--as seen around the edges of the neck's heel and the top's lower bout--is no longer a blemish, but a road-worn badge of honor!
Eagle eyed electric violin enthusiasts will recognize a slight difference in the body shape of the early Jordan violin compared to his modern ones. All of the ergonomic principles are clearly present, but the swooping treble-side lower bout shape that is standard to modern Jordans is noticeably truncated in this much earlier example of the design.
