Guide To NS Design Electric Violins

NS Design was founded in 1990 by famed instrument designer Ned Steinberger to develop electric string instruments. Ned's "headless" electric bass design took the guitar world by storm in the 1980's and he then turned his legendary design acumen to creating an ergonomic and great sounding electric bowed string instrument.

Ned's core electric violin design was so great to begin with that it has barely changed in nearly 30 years. It has gone through several iterations and the original violin has branched out into three distinct models--the CR-Series, the NXTa, and the WAV--which are compared and contrasted in the chart and video below.
