The ART Dual Pre two channel USB preamp is a great component for home recording. While it does not come with recording software, it will work with many different systems including Mac or PC. The dual inputs allow the user to plug in microphones or instruments, and headphone or monitor output will allow it to be used as merely a solid-state preamp.
