(This is a legacy model amp, available at closeout pricing. The current edition is the BOSS Katana-50 GEN 3)

With 50 watts of power, a custom 12-inch speaker, and a suite of onboard effects, the Katana-50 MkII amp delivers a commanding range of gig-worthy tones at an extremely affordable price!

Overview

The Boss Katana-50 MkII is an electric guitar amp, however, among its five amp voicings is a special Acoustic setting that allows it to sound warm and inviting when used with piezo pickup-powered instruments, such as electric bowed string instruments. In Acoustic mode this amp sounds great with violins, violas and -- thanks to a 12-inch speaker--cellos, providing a balanced, rich tone that can be easily customized with 3-band EQ controls. Or use the other amp models (Clean, Crunch, Lead, Brown) to add classic guitar characteristics and breakup to your sound.

Full-Toned Practice, Even At Low Volume

The Katana 50 also excels for home playing, with a uniquely efficient design and innovative Power Control that provides inspiring sound and response at low volumes, which is great for throttling back the volume at small stages and while playing at home, and also includes a Standby setting that mutes the sound for switching instruments or taking breaks. And by flipping out the integrated tilt stand, you can easily angle the amp back for better sound projection. There is also a 1/4" Headphone output jack on the back for self monitoring or a more immersive practice experience.

Onboard Effects Suite

Katana MkII includes five simultaneous effects categories, putting the tone-shaping power of a massive pedalboard right inside your amp. Independent Booster, Mod, FX, Delay, and Reverb sections come loaded from the factory with three variations in each, providing 15 ready-to-play effects to choose from. Connecting to BOSS Tone Studio lets you dive much deeper if you want—customize the sections with over 60 different effect types, change the order with four different chains, and much more.

Feature-rich but simple to operate

While the Katana-50 MkII includes many advanced features, it’s amazingly simple to operate. Dedicated knobs for multiple gain stages and three-band EQ allow you to quickly dial in your tone by ear, just as you would with a standard tube amp. Essential effects parameters are adjusted with a simple knob twist, and memories can be stored with a brief button hold.
