The Bridge Aquila violin features a hollow body made of a carbon fiber and Kevlar composite. The enclosed air resonates to provide a rich amplified violin sound while maintaining the strength and durability of a solid body instrument.

This new purple/black color is the first true purple available in the base model Aquilas in years (an even deeper, more saturated purple metallic is available in their hi-spec Dragon models).

Great tone, striking style, and flexibility -- what more can you ask for?

Well, for one thing, how about a purple that's actually, well, purple? For years, the "Purple/Black fade of the stock Bridge Aquilas has been more pink/magenta than purple. However, the pinking of the Aquilas appears to be coming to an end. We just received two new Aquilas in from the U.S. distributor, and were pleasantly surprised to discover that we had to produce new product photography, as these purple/black Aquilas were a gorgeous shade of purple (fading, of course, to black, at the edges).

The critical measurements of the Bridge Aquila conform to those of a standard acoustic violin, so it feels natural to play. The neck and fingerboard are made just like your acoustic violin's, with traditional materials and construction. The Bridge Aquila violin will hold your traditional shoulder pad, yet the body is anything but traditional. It is molded from a composite of carbon fiber and Kevlar, is not much heavier than an acoustic violin, and is incredibly strong. (Don't try this at home, but Bridge once hit one of their basses with a sledgehammer without breaking it!) Power for the active preamp is supplied by a single 3V lithium coin-cell battery, which weighs virtually nothing, yet will last for approximately 1,000 hours of playing time.

The Bridge Aquila violin comes with an oblong hard case, Pirastro Tonica strings and a carbon composite bow. Price includes our free shop adjustment.
