The Bridge Illusion Bronze Aquila Dragon is a custom "hi-spec" model, equipped with Wittner Finetune geared pegs and upgraded electronics. We find the tone better balanced across the instrument's range than the standard Aquila, with a noticeably stronger output and more brilliance on the high strings, without treble harshness. This gorgeous Illusion Bronze finish reflects different colors depending on angle. Look through all the photos -- only an actual dragon's scale might show more color-changing ability. This "hi-spec" custom Illusion Bronze Aquila Dragon from Bridge Violins in the UK sports several upgrades from the standard model, built in the Far East. With upgraded electronics and Wittner Finetune pegs, this is the Aquila for players who are willing to make a bigger investment in an instrument of greater quality. First and foremost, it's always about tone, and this is where the Aquila Dragon really shines. We already love the sound of the standard Bridge models, yet this Dragon model sounded noticeably better than the standard Bridge 5-string we tested it against. Immediate first impressions were of the instrument's stronger output, but what really stood out and stayed with us was the beautiful balance of its tone. This Aquila has much more brilliance on the high strings, exhibiting a sparkle and clarity of tone with a notable absence of the harshness that sometimes plagues the violin's upper register when it's amplified. Now available in a variety of custom colors, this Dragon Aquila is finished in their beautiful Illusion Bronze paint. Look through all the photos -- this finish exhibits color-changing abilities difficult to capture, that only an actual dragon's scale could hope to match! (There is a fair amount of color variation with Illusion Bronze ---- some instruments present primarily red/bronze to green/gold, while others have more of a green to gold shift, with very little red or bronze. Tuning is a breeze with the Wittner Finetune pegs, nearly making the fine tuners built into the Wittner composite tailpiece obsolete. The price of the Illusion Bronze Dragon Aquila includes the same custom hard shell case and carbon composite bow that comes with standard Bridge models.
