North Carolina-based violinist & luthier Dan Emmett's handmade violin #37 offers boutique craftsmanship and a stunning finish all at a bargain price. The tiger stripes of this marblewood top explode with color from the middle out in a sort of reverse sunburst finish pattern.

This, Emmett's first 6-string violin, has a well carved neck with enough width to accommodate string spacing but not so much as to feel clumsy. A Barbera Twin Hybrid, with multiple pickups per string, provides intense, balanced output across the full range of the violin with a tone that is punchy and signal that is very well suited to all effects.

Very lightweight for a 6-string, this instrument has all the physical reference points of an acoustic violin, so it feels comfortable while giving the player the range of both the violin, the viola, and most of the cello!
