Its flamed-maple top, f-holes, and shape make the Wood Violins Nashville a great electric violin for fiddle players who need to be heard in high-volume settings. A chambered, semi-hollow top and Wood TruTone pickup ensure that the Nashville's warm, rich amplified tone lives up to the promise of its good looks. Lightweight and familiar in feel, the Nashville feels comfortable yet contemporary, with a slight asymmetry to the shape and Wittner Finetune pegs for ease of tuning and stability. The Nashville is the newest model from the folks at Wood Violins. Combining traditional design with modern, contemporary elements, this is an electric violin with looks that will appeal to the traditional or country fiddler, and a comfortable feel, light weight, and exceptional tone that make it a great addition to the arsenal of any electric violinist. Its sound is a product of the Nashville's chambered body and the Wood Violins TruTone pickup. Paired with a good acoustic amplifier, the Nashville's amplified tone is rich and warm, with rich, resonant bass and sweet, singing treble; the E string is brilliant, but not harsh. Not as powerful or driving as the Barbera pickups found on other Wood Violins models, the open, ringing sound of the TruTone pickup makes the Nashville's tone more acoustic-sounding, for a natural fiddle tone. Wood Violins' luthiers have done a great job with the design of the Nashville. The string spacing and width of the neck are comfortable for the left hand, and while the bridge curvature is a little flatter in the middle, it's easy to get around all five strings with the bow. The Nashville's streamlined, semi-hollow body ensure that it's very light in weight. Combined with its mostly-traditional shape, that makes it extremely comfortable and easy to play. Equipped with Wittner Finetune pegs, tuning the Nashville is a breeze, and it stays in tune through changes in temperature and humidity.
